  • Décolleté (Chest)

How Microneedling works

Microneedling stimulates the skin’s natural healing response without causing unnecessary and excessive damage such as laser treatments and chemical peels. Rejuvapen Microneedling will depend on your skin natural ability to repair and heal itself.

The treatment uses tiny needles from Rejuvapen that create invisible, microscopic wounds in the epidermis and on the top layer of the dermis at different depths.

It will then send signals that your body has been injured, triggering the body’s natural self-repair process.

These tiny perforations heal within several hours and prompt new elastin and collagen synthesis to generate healthy new tissue.

FAQ About Rejuvapen Microneedling System

Make the best health decision. The answers to frequently asked questions about Rejuvapen Microneedling System will help you decide if this treatment is right for you.

  • 1What conditions are Rejuvapen Microneedling System good for?

Rejuvapen Microneedling System is best for:

    • Wrinkles and fine lines
    • Acne scars
    • Hyperpigmentation
    • Stretch marks
    • Large pore size
    • Skin tightening
  • 2What is the difference between dermal roller and Rejuvapen Microneedling?

The most common technique of Microneedling is the use of a roller with needles attached across the cylindrical device. Known as dermal roller, this device is rolled across the problem area. The downside of this technique is that it creates a sloped needle insertion due to the rolling movement. It causes unnecessary epidermal damage as the needles tug the tissue when they leave the skin.

Rejuvapen’s state-of-art applicator utilizes vertical insertion of the needles, minimizing unnecessary injury to the problem area. The applicator only moves in an up-down motion, leading to less downtime and a better, more comfortable experience for patients.

The design and size of Rejuvapen Microneedling System allows it to be used in small, tight curved areas. Dermal roller cannot be applied on the crease of the nose, across the chin or along the upper lip.

  • 3Does microneedling hurt?

Depending on the depth of the treatment, numbing creams can be used to provide patient comfort. The applicator can also be set to a pre-determined length, but this will depend on your skin condition. Patients undergoing treatments with shorter needle will feel a slight tickling sensation, but for those who need more depth, numbing creams can be applied.

  • 4What should I expect after my microneedling treatment?

Expect redness on the treated area the following day after your Rejuvapen treatment. We advise arranging two days of downtime. Stay out of the sun. The redness often subsides within 48 hours.

  • 5How many microneedling treatment sessions will I need?

Each person’s skin condition vary, requiring different levels of treatment. People with fine lines and mild wrinkles may notice improvement after only one treatment. Those with deep acne scarring, deep wrinkles and severe hyperpigmentation may need more than one session. The number of treatment sessions needed will be determined during the consultation.

  • 6What are things I should avoid after my microneedling treatment?

After the treatment, there are certain things you have to avoid to ensure proper healing environment.

    • At least 3 days after the treatment, do not use any ‘active’ skincare products that contains Alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA), Beta hydroxyl acids (BHA), Vitamin C and retinol.
    • Avoid direct exposure to sunlight within 24 hours.
    • Stay away from tanning beds,
    • Avoid swimming at least 24 hours after the treatment
    • No strenuous exercise or activity for the first 24 hours after the treatment. Sweating may cause spread of bacteria, causing adverse reaction.
