Is Laser Hair Removal Permanent?

Laser hair removal results in a permanent reduction in the number of hairs. It can only address existing hairs. The laser cannot prevent new hair from growing. Hair growth cycles are different, depending on individual factors such as: heredity, hormone imbalances, resistance to insulin, pregnancy, thyroid issues, reactions to medications and aging.

Who is Laser Hair Removal for?

Everyone! Laser hair removal is safe for all skin types, hair types and most hair colors. It can even be used on tanned skin. The bottom line is – if you have hair where you wish you didn’t, laser hair removal performed by our experts is for you.

Does Laser Hair Removal hurt?

The level of discomfort you may feel depends on your tolerance. Some people say that the laser feels like a snap of a rubber band or a prickly sensation, while others say it feels like a gentle pinch. You could compare it getting your ears pierced – most people barely notice it, but others find it a bit more painful. However, many people find laser hair removal much less painful than waxing.

How long does each Laser Hair Treatment cost?

You should expect to need 8 to 12 treatments per area to maximize your Laser Hair Removal. People come in different shapes and sizes, and have different types of hair. We encourage you to take advantage of our free consultation, so that we can create a custom plan just for you. If you require more than 8 treatments, we can do any additional treatments at a discounted ‘maintenance’ or ‘touch-up’ price. Please remember that the experience of the technician plays a big part in how many treatments are needed and Laserbody M.D. is proud to offer our medical professionals who are well-trained and experienced in Laser Hair Removal.

Are there any side effects with Laser Hair Removal?

Temporary redness is common following laser hair removal and will resolve in minutes to hours. Occasionally (but rarely) swelling or superficial blistering can occur which may cause temporary pigmentary changes such as lightening or darkening of the skin. This may last weeks but rarely longer. The risk of infection or scarring is extremely low.

Is Laser Hair Removal safe?

Laser treatment rarely has serious side-effects—just slight irritation or hair color change, but this would depend on where you go for treatment. If you’re thinking about getting laser hair treatments, you just need to make sure you research the clinic you plan to go to. This procedure is very personal, so you only want to get it done at a clean, highly recommended clinic that’s well-known for its customer service.

Are Chemical Peels for everyone?

Chemicals peels are a safe treatment whether you’re a first timer or a regular user. While it is strong compared to other skin treatments, the positive effects of peeling days after the treatment are dramatic.

It is not recommended that you undergo a chemical peel if you have an allergy, sensitivity to aspirin, an active skin infection or inflammation, hypersensitive skin, sunburnt skin, active acne, open wounds, are currently pregnant, have recently underwent through a chemical peel or exfoliation treatments, have recently taken or will take Accutane.

What do I need to do after my chemical peel treatment?

Rinse your skin gently using warm water, and pat dry using a soft cloth. Only use skin care products recommended by your doctor.

Avoid rubbing, picking, or peeling the skin as this may result in scarring. Avoid any creams that contain retinol or hydroquinone for the first week after your first peel treatment.

Avoid other facial treatments and sun exposure within two weeks after the procedure. If you must go out, wear sunscreen or a sunblocker.

How many chemical peel treatments will I need?

The frequency of chemical peel treatments depends on your skin’s condition. Two chemical peel treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is recommended, to be followed by maintenance treatments. 3 chemical peels every year is generally enough to maintain the clarity of your skin.

For optimal results, we recommend that you do maintenance using Vivier™ Skin Care System or Vivier™’s Skin Care System which helps you achieve softer, clearer, and even skin. This skin care system comes in five classifications each suited for your skin’s needs: normal to dry, combination to oily, adult acne, teenage and young adult acne, and hyperpigmentation.

Fat on the outer thighs (saddle bags)

Fat on the flanks (muffin top)

Are there any side effects to Coolsculpting?

Pulling, tugging, and mild pinching sensations may be felt during your CoolSculpting procedure. You may also feel cramping, aching, stinging, tingling, and intense cold, but these side effects subside quickly as the treatment continues.

Who is the ideal candidate for Coolsculpting?

So whether you have a scar from an injury, or stretch marks from losing weight, this procedure will work for you.

What if my scar is over 10 years old?

Scar tissue, whether old or new, still has the same underlying physiological characteristics. This means once the underlying collagen cells kick in, the scar tissue will undergo rejuvenation in the same way. It may not fade as well as newer scars and may take more treatments, but we can certainly get results!

Are Fraxel results permanent or will my scars come back?

Fraxel® results are permanent. Of course this does not mean scarring and new stretch marks cannot occur again. Nevertheless, all scars and a stretch marks treated tend to go away for good.
