WHAT TO EXPECT

  • A skin patch test will be performed prior to commencing your first treatment to ensure client safety
  • You may book your first treatment 24-48 hours after patch test is complete if there are no adverse reactions
  • You may experience redness, swelling and/or raised bumps. This is normal
  • You can expect a total minimum of 8 treatments per treatment area. More treatments may be needed based on skin type + hair density
  • Face/Neck area treatment schedule: every 4-6 weeks for the first 3 to 4 treatments
  • Body area treatment schedule: every 6-8 weeks for the first 3 to 4 treatments
  • This treatment is not ideal or recommended for white, grey, or blonde hair as there is no pigment to be targeted by the laser

BEFORE CARE

  • Clean the area’s skin to be treated. Leave your skin FREE of cosmetics, lotions, creams and perfume/colognes
  • Do not epilate, pluck, wax, tweezing, bleaching, use of a depilatory or undergo electrolysis in the areas you wish to have treated 4 weeks prior to your laser hair removal treatment
  • Please shave the area no sooner than 24 hours before your laser hair removal treatment
  • Remember to inform the Treatment Provider of any changes to your health history or medication(s) you may be taking; including antibiotics
  • Avoid wearing deodorant (for underarms treatments)
  • Avoid wearing jewelry of any kind (for face/neck/Brazilian treatments)
  • Wear loose comfortable clothing
  • 5 – 7 days prior to your treatment, discontinue all active skin care ingredients such as:

AFTER CARE

  • Some redness, swelling or small edema bumps in the area are normal after treatment and you may feel a sensation similar to a mild sunburn. This should resolve within several hours to several days after treatment
  • Clean hands immediately before touching the treated area.
  • Crusting and rarely, blistering may occur which typically resolve within 48-72 hours. DO NOT pick as this will cause hype/hypo pigmentation to occur
  • Avoid soaking in hot tubs or hot baths, as well as, saunas and steam rooms for 48 hours after your laser hair removal as bacteria in them can cause infection
  • Do exfoliate the area treated, 1 week after treatment to help prevent ingrown hairs. We recommend using Skinceuticals Micro-Exfoliating Scrub
  • Always use a medical grade sunblock on treatment area even on a cloudy day. Sun avoidance should become a permanent component of your long-term skin care program to prevent the risk of pigmentary changes in the treated area
  • Avoid working out or excessive sweating. This may cause extreme itchiness to develop.
  • Avoid active ingredients (glycolics, retinoids etc.) for seven days after your treatment
  • Apply sunscreen to the treated area for 6 weeks after treatment and avoid/minimize sun exposure during this time
  • Avoid tanning (includes tanning beds, self-tanners) 2 weeks after your laser hair removal treatment

If you experience any break or blistering of the skin, treat with an antibiotic ointment, such as Polysporin
